The percentage commission the company will pay you when you make a sale is of course very important. There are many companies paying as little as 5% commission, while others pay up to 75% and even more. Especially vendors of digital products tend to pay high commissions, since the cost of producing those products are fairly low. Keep in mind that selling some products are more difficult than selling others. It's no use to spend months on trying to sell a product that pays 75% commission if you could sell ten paying 5% every day.

Another factor that is important to consider is whether the market for the product or service has reached a level of saturation that makes it difficult to sell anything. Some products have been on the market for such a long time and there are so many affiliates trying to sell them, that selling even one is a very difficult task indeed. Rather find a relatively new product aimed at a niche market.

Always keep a mailing list to keep tract of your potential customers. A good way to build a mailing list is to give away free information on your website and try to get the visitors to sign up for more information in future by joining your mailing list.

Never send out spam mails to the members of your mailing list. Keep the information relevant and useful and you will soon realise that you have learned how to make money online!
