How Do I Download an E-Book?

A lot of people are apparent as to what an E-Book is, however many people are uncertain as to what they do upon purchasing an E-Book. Downloading these electronic books may be more of a task for some people then actually reading the text that it contains.

The first thing that you have to do in order to download an E-Book is to ensure that your computer has the proper software program in order to open the E-Book file. Wide arrays of these books are available in what is referred to as a PDF file.

In order to open these PDF files you need to have a special program on your computer known as Adobe Reader. Adobe reader is a free software download. It takes a matter of minutes to download directly onto your computer so you can enjoy reading your E-Book.

The publisher of the E-Book has the option to give you the E-Book that you are interested in reading in three different ways. The first way they can give you the information is through a download on a web page. They can also choose to give you the information as an attachment in an email, or a direct link in an email.

In an instance, where the publisher takes you to a webpage in order to receive the E-Book that you desire, there are a few basic things that you need to do in order to open the file so you can commence in reading it.

1. The first thing is you must already have Adobe reader downloaded to your computer. If this program is not downloaded to your computer you should commence in downloading it immediately or you will never be able to read your E-Book.

2. You will see a link that will tell you to click the button in order to receive your E-Book. The trick is not to click the link that is specified. (This does sound a little backward, but there is a reason for this.)

3. The next thing that you need to do is right click on the link. If you are using a Mac computer you will have to press shift and then click. You will notice a box will appear where the link is.

4. At the top of this box, you should see a few words that say "open link". You are going to want to left click on the part that says open link.

5. After you have clicked on the coordinating link, you are then going to want to save your E-Book so you can view it whenever you want. You can do this by clicking save link as.

6. It's always a good rule of thumb to save the file in your documents, since it is a document of some sort. You can save the file in your documents by following the prompts that will automatically populate your screen.

7. At this point, another screen will pop up, which is the download screen. You are going to want the download to commence. After the download has finished you are going to want to press the open button that is located on the download box.

After you have finished all the pertinent steps to downloading your E-Book, then you can finally commence in reading the information.
