6 Stages To Learn How To Write A Great Article

Anyone who regularly reads newspapers, papers and goes online will have read several articles. These can be used in many different ways. Some articles are written purely for information purposes were others are used to market websites and goods. Understanding how to write a great article can be difficult even if you are a seasoned pro. So why not take a look at the 6 stages which will enable you to learn how to write a great article.

Step one - start every single article with a brief rundown of what you will be discussing. Obviously this will be contained within the first paragraph. But do not try to go into too much detail, just give readers a snapshot of what you will be talking about.

Step two - now it is time to create a summary of the facts contained within the article that will set the scene. Do this within the second paragraph and you will get the attention of the reader. Be careful to make sure that this is not simply a rewrite of the first paragraph or you will not be writing a great article.

Step three - always use exactly the same writing style throughout the article. Failing to do this will create an article that is difficult to read and it will not flow properly. As you are writing re-read sections to make sure this is happening if you need to. Doing this will make sure you are on the right track for the full article.

Step four - write as though you are speaking directly to your reader in a conversational style. A lot of readers find that reading articles written in this way is much more appealing. So aim to do this when you are writing yourself, and you will be creating great articles before you know it.

Step five - don't ever write an article on a subject that you have no experience in without research. Not only is this highly unprofessional it will also take you much longer to write your article. Send a little time researching your subject and you will be much more successful when writing your article. If this is not possible you may have to turn down writing the article rather than submitting a poorly written piece. This is something that all writers need to understand and you will too.

Step six - never wander off topic when you are writing as this creates a very disjointed article. If you have a tendency to do this keep reading and re-reading your article as you write. While you are doing this ask yourself the question "Am I on topic?" and you will not go wrong.

Now that you have the six tips on how to write a great article it is time to get started. Follow the tips and you will find your own writing style and start to produce some great articles. With time you will continue to improve and you might even be able to make a living out of writing articles.
